So, I'm not one who is much for social media. You won't find me on Facebook, X (Twitter), Threads, Instagram, Bluesky or MySpace.

There are two places that I am at. LinkedIn, and Mastodon.

I'm sure you know what LinkedIn is. But what is Mastodon? Mastodon is similar to X (Twitter), but is not owned by one person, one company or VCs. Mastodon is a federated social media platform which means people all across the globe can set up their own "instances" and they link to all other instances in what is known as the fediverse. By and large, on the user side, it functions much like X (Twitter) and has various features that you'd expect to find on those other platforms.

I am on a different instance than the bigger mastodon.social one, which is athttps://fosstodon.org. This instance is by invitation only. fosstodon is all about Free and Open Source Software, hence the foss part. But you can toot (tweet) about anything you like as long as it follows the rules of the instance.
